A labret piercing is a facial piercing that can be placed below your lower lip. But that's not the only place a labret piercing can be placed; you have several different types. What are the types of labret lip piercings?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Labret piercing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A labret piercing is centered, under your lower lip. With the regular labret, you can wear different gems: hoops, circular barbells and flat-back lip studs. We begin by placing a larger rod. A lip piercing can be downsized quickly though, swapping to a shorter rod, usually after only 2 to 3 weeks. The healing period itself will be about 6-8 weeks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Side labret piercing <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a piercing under the lower lip but not centered. Rather, it is then between the center and the corner of the mouth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertical labret <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A vertical labret is a vertical piercing, which uses a curved rod (curved barbell or banana) that goes through the center of your lower lip and exits through the labret, below the lower lip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does a labret piercing hurt?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each person's pain threshold is different. Surprising or not, a lip piercing doesn't actually hurt much. We can say, however, that upper lip piercing will hurt more than lower lip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
