What is a conch piercing?
A conch piercing is an ear piercing through your auricle. In the middle convex part.
This makes it a very distinctive piercing, not everyone expects to see a gem shining in that place.
How is a conch piercing set?
First we look at the placement: Where exactly will it be located? What are the possibilities of the place?
Once decided exactly where the piercing will go next, the piercer goes straight through the cartilage with a piercing needle.
Finally, the gem is inserted into your new piercing.
How should I take care of my conch piercing?
- Don't touch your piercing too much, especially before washing your hands.
- Do not sleep on the piercing.
- Rinse at least once daily with running water.
- After six to eight weeks visit the piercer for a shorter rod.
Are conch piercings painful?
You will naturally feel pain during conch piercing placement. Some people experience virtually no pain, while others experience terrible pain.
What are the types of conch piercings?
- Inner conch: this is placed in the middle and on the inside of your auricle.
- Outer conch: this is close to the outer edge of the shell. Not in the curvature of your shell, because then you have a completely different kind of piercing.
- Low conch: this sits lowest in your auricle. It is also not pierced into the curvature wall.
How long does it take for a conch piercing to heal?
For the duration of complete healing, you can easily count 6 to 9 months anyway. Every cartilage piercing needs about the same amount of time to heal. Of course, this also varies from person to person.
What materials are used for daith piercings and where can I find them?
At Inksane, we use only Implant grade titanium, by its many advantages: it is completely hypoallergenic (100% nickel-free), it is as hard as steel, but lightweight.
A second option is surgical steel, but this has some disadvantages, and is therefore not used by us: heavy in weight, and there is also a small amount of nickel in it which makes those jewels not good for people with allergies.

What is the minimum age for a conch piercing?
You can get a conch piercing from the age of 14-16.
Persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What kind of jewelry can be used?
When placing the conch piercing, a longer rod (labret) will be used first. This is because any swelling will be taken into account.
You can also wear a ring in the conch when it has healed. This does not fit everyone's ear anatomy. Fortunately, there are plenty of other options to complete your ear.
