Need more info about buying a navel piercing?

We answer below some questions you might have around setting and buying navel piercings, so feel free to read on!

What are the features and characteristics?

What types of jewelry are there for a navel piercing?

The piercing we always use for a navel piercing is a curved gem, a curved barbell (rod) or banana. The abdomen will be looked at first to see what gem can be used.

There are some types. With an open navel, it can hang in. Whereas with a less open one we are more likely to go for a small stone. When the belly folds, it is more likely to be a floating navel piercing. This way the little stone is always visible because it sits above the navel.

Only 30% of people who want navel piercing have correct anatomy of the abdomen. Because if the abdomen is too flat when the piercing is placed, the gem will grow out quickly.

What are the sizes used for a navel piercing?

The standard sizes of navel piercings range between 8 mm and 14 mm.

This depends on the type of piercing you buy, but usually these piercings are in a range of 8-14 mm.

Getting an umbilical piercing offers many different options for people to express their personality.

If your preference is for a simple navel piercing or you want something unique, there is always a suitable option available.

What materials are suitable for navel piercings?

At Inksane, we use only Implant grade titanium,  by its many advantages: it is completely hypoallergenic (100% nickel-free), it is as hard as steel, but lightweight.

A second option is surgical steel,  but this has some disadvantages, and is therefore not used by us: heavy in weight, and there is also a small amount of nickel in it which makes those jewels not good for people with allergies.

Because we work with quality materials and piercings, so you're only going to find jewelry made out of Implant grade titanium at our physical store or online store.

What is the cost of a navel piercing?

The price of jewelry starts at the price of €15. You can find the jewelry in 1 of our shops or in our webshop.

How long does it take to change my navel piercing?

How should I take care of my navel piercing?

Are navel piercings painful?

The pain you feel when getting an umbilical piercing varies from person to person. You will always feel a prick from the needle being inserted into the skin. After that, you will also experience some pressure from the gem that is then placed. But you quickly forget that when you then see the result.

What should I do if my belly button piercing becomes inflamed?

If your belly button piercing is warm and swollen, the piercing will be inflamed. You should contact your piercer when there is green or yellow pus and you experience intense pain on it without touching it.

Inflammation can occur with all piercings.

Can you swim if you just got an umbilical piercing?

It is recommended to wait at least 6 weeks before swimming. Because in the pool there is stagnant water and also chlorine. This is because both are bad for the healing process.
